Sometimes it's the Simple Things ... am I right?

When I started to crochet I wanted to jump all the way to the end and make all. the. things! Especially wearables. In fact I leapt with both feet into that steaming pile!! My first wearable currently sits behind me as I type. It's a cardigan that is so big I use it as a blanket when I get cold in my office. I didn't understand things like 'gauge' and 'ease' (this is not the post to explain those terms by the way) and so by the time I was finished, I could wrap my cardigan around me twice.
Live and learn.
Now, I'm the teacher and it is my goal to both challenge my students AND keep their expectations realistic. Honestly, there is nothing more frustrating to someone beginning a new hobby than spending hours and hours making something that you are super excited about, only to throw it on the trash pile.
With that in mind, I came up with a Beginner Ornament class. We had 6 lovely ladies attend with skills ranging from "just took our Beginner Class" to "been around a bit but still need guidance". If you're a more experience crocheter, try experimenting with adding in different stitches, and get creative with how you decorate your ornaments. Adding cross stitch or embroidery to these would be stunning too.
Now it's available for all as a digital download! Click this image and view the listing. We used our workhorse yarn, Cascade Anthem yarn in a medium/worsted weight, but honestly, these would look cute in any weight yarn and they only take a little bit so it's great for using up scraps.
If you make these, please send me photos of your finished ornaments. I love seeing what my Crochet Crew are getting up to!
Until next time, have an amazing day and go make something fun!
